It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. Do you agree or disagree?

Isn't it the same whether you grew up in the countryside or not. In both sides you thirst for money. You want fame. You want power. You want the women. This is how life is. It rotates around the concept of human nature. Food and water, money, power, women. That is how the world works. The most powerful of people keep that in mind and sometimes even rather choose money over food and water.
One would think that the country side would give the child a better heart as they would see the troubles and hardworking nature of the country. The countryside might have those small jobs that might help the small society. There are still people in there that want money to maybe get out of a hardworking life like that. They might want the women or want to prove something to somebody. The reasons are endless, but they all end up to the concept of greed and power. The country side can bring misfortune to even the brightest of children.
One would think that children from cities would be spoilt, but smart in terms of general. The children of cities would watch each other's friend rise to the top of power as they do nothing. They want to prove to a friend that they can gain power, money and women. They all wind up with greed and money as they attend school. They would see country children rise up from nothing to millions. They would feel jealous, so they would try to do the same. It is a good thing but in a way also a bad thing. Greed can bring misfortune in ways you cant imagine.

  1. I never really thought of it that way. But not everybody wants all fame, money, power, or the women - most will usually want maybe just one and will be contempt with that. I know some people that have none and are still contempt with that, but I guess that's really rare.

  2. This actually made me think a lot (I didn't write an essay on the topic)
I agree with you to a great extent as you completely make sense but at the same time, I also agree that not everyone wants fame and money. I would love to live where there are theaters and restaurants but I would prefer a peaceful country side if it was about raising my children. ^^

  3. This is an interesting thought you have there. I answered this topic as well and said that it would be better to grow up in the city. Not everyone thirss for money, but I do think that there are more advantages of growing up in a city as in the future, little country side will be present and to have a better social network with friends is very important I think.
To improve you writing: add a short, but detailed summary sentence at the end to cleary show which side you are on, agree or disagree.

  4. Your essay is completely to the point and focuses on current issues.
However I feel you could have stressed more on the importance of family and friends in this case.
Colleges want to know more about you as a person and this is not very helpful to know about you as a person.
