If you were to write a book, on what theme or subject matter would it be based, and why? (Stanford/93)

-         “Everything was black. If he lost contact with the car, he would never again find it again and Edward Pleasure would drown. With the icy water swirling around his face, he hooked a hand underneath the door frame and felt his way over the roof and down the other side. Where was the door handle? He was already beginning to strain for air. He should have opened it from inside…” A small piece from the book Alex Rider. A young boy who lived a life of a spy ever since the death of his parents and uncle. He is now fostered by a family friend called Jack. Although Alex is only on his early teens, the secret service or MI6 have been training him ad sending him on serious missions.
-         I love a good scare, thrill, and the feeling of curiosity. Will he die? What happens next? Is this the end of the young James Bond? I have to continue reading. The first book I ever read was a Harry Potter book, and I’m not exactly sure which book it was but it was scary and thrilling. Ever since that book, I wanted to feel more. It felt like a journey to me. Finding a book that would thrill you, scare you, make you think, make you laugh etc. Goosebumps was after that. It made me scared. I read it every night just to have the feeling of fear. As I grew up, the wasn’t really scary and I got a bit lazy. My liking for books were disappearing. I was attending a boarding school in South India and it sucked. The use of technology in school was forbidden and I wanted to play video games. All I could do was read. At first I hated it, but as I read on, I remembered how much I used to like it. I finished the whole series of Artemis fowl in less than a month, literally. Percy Jackson series was next, and finished it within a month. It was amazing. I read vigorously without any disturbance. I read the whole day and night. I was just too curious.
-         Now I’m in a boarding school where time is of the essence. You don’t have much time to read books. There is always home work. But I make use of the time to read the book Alex Rider. To be honest, I found the book in the bathroom while I was doing my business. I read a few pages of it and just thought to myself, “hey, I don’t think the owner wants this book anymore, judging by how and where he left this book.” So I took it and read it. I noticed from the first book I read until now were all fiction books and most of them were scary, thrilling, humorous, and adventurous and brings out the curiosity in you. So it’s obvious what type of book I would write, judging by the books I have read.
