- I was born in New York City. In a few months after I was born, I had to leave the place as my Mom’s job had transferred her back home, in Bhutan. I started off with kindergarten and after one-third of the year; Mom had been transferred again to Thailand. In the beginning of kindergarten, in Thailand, I had a bit of trouble getting used to the system and the people. After a few months; I had mastered the local language and made many new friends in school. But as i was getting used to the place, I had to leave again. From there I had moved back to Bhutan, but I had been going to a school in south India. A few years later, my parents moved to Belgium. I had to change my school once again to north India as it was easier for travel. All these school had different systems of education and different people.
- The cause of travelling had allowed me to experience the numerous and various cultures. I learned not to be racist. I had gotten used to seeing different people, and now I’m comfortable with it. The change in system had affected my studies, but due to my travels, I had gotten used to them. My travels had allowed me to realize that the world is diverse. Whether we are white, black brown or yellow, we are all the same in the inside. We all feel pain and suffer.
- To become the citizen of the world, I have to be able to respect the world. My travels have led me to realize this. This is why I respect all my friends, teachers and even strangers that pass me in my life.
All this moving around might be a great topic for your eventual essay -- keep thinking about all the different things you've seen and learned in all of these countries.
